ADDICTION & RECOVERY SUPPORT · WITH ABBY

There’s more

addiction.

TWO PROGRAMMES. DIFFERENT STARTING POINTS.

Where are you
right now?

You might be trying to change your using. Or you’ve stopped, but life still feels empty. I’ve created a programme for each of those stages.

01 / WORKING TOWARDS STOPPING8 weeks

Addiction2Change

“I want to stop, but I keep going back.”

For people still using, cutting down or trying to stop. We’ll look honestly at your using, what keeps pulling you back, and the support you need to move forward.

  • Understand your patterns and triggers
  • Practise tools for cravings and difficult moments
  • Build a plan for support, setbacks and next steps

Over eight guided weeks, we’ll work on the situations that make stopping difficult: getting paid, having an argument, being alone in the evening, or telling yourself that this time you’ll keep it under control. You’ll practise different ways of responding, with support while you try them.

Who is Addiction2Change for?

You might be using every day, or only at weekends but finding that once you start, it goes further than you intended. You might have tried to stop several times, be cutting down, or feel torn between wanting to stop and still wanting to use.

You don’t need to have stopped before joining. What matters is being willing to look honestly at what’s happening and work towards change. If you’ve already stopped and your main difficulty is rebuilding yourself and your life, Addiction2You is designed for that stage.

What will we work on?

There are seven stages of work across the eight weeks. We’ll start with a clear picture of your using, how it affects your life and what you want to be different.

Understanding why you keep going back
Look at what using gives you, as well as what it costs you. We need to understand the reasons you reach for it, including the ones you find difficult to admit.
Recognising your patterns
Notice the feelings, people, places and times of day linked to your using. Work on the setup around it, including access and the routines that make it easier to carry on.
Getting through difficult moments
Practise craving tools and make plans for situations where your intentions often change. We’ll review what happened when you tried a tool and adjust what needs adjusting.
Asking for and using support
Work out who you can speak to, what help you need and how to explain what’s happening. I can support you to prepare for a conversation with a treatment service or clinician.
Responding to setbacks and planning ahead
Look at what happened without hiding it, identify what needs to change and build a plan you can keep referring to after the programme.
How will I be supported?

I’ll personally teach and guide you through the programme using video and audio. You’ll have practical tasks to try between sessions, with a workbook for your answers, plans and reminders. The focus is on what you do with the lesson in your life.

Throughout the eight weeks, you’ll have a weekly one-to-one with me, a weekly group session, a private programme group chat and access to me by text. Bring the difficult updates as well as the good ones. Text support is within agreed contact hours; it isn’t instant or available 24/7.

Give this your full effort: be 100% honest, try the actions we agree and tell me when something isn’t helping. That gives us something real to work with.

What is the aim, and what are the limits?

The aim is to understand your using more clearly, practise ways to respond to cravings, identify the support you need and work towards stopping. Everyone starts in a different place; there isn’t a promise that everyone will stop on the same timetable.

This is lived-experience support, not medical treatment, therapy or detox. Clinical reduction plans and medication decisions need an appropriate clinician. The programme can work alongside professional treatment; it doesn’t replace it.

02 / REBUILDING LIFE IN RECOVERY12 weeks

Addiction2You

“I’ve stopped. What do I do with myself now?”

For people who have stopped using or are further into recovery. Get to know yourself again and build a life you feel proud of, with things you actually look forward to.

  • Rebuild self-trust, confidence and self-respect
  • Work on routines, relationships and empty evenings
  • Find direction and protect your progress

Over 12 guided weeks, we’ll work on who you are without substances and how you want your everyday life to feel. That might mean keeping promises to yourself, finding something you enjoy on a Saturday, or getting through a quiet evening without wishing you could escape it.

Who is Addiction2You for?

You’ve stopped using, or you’re further into recovery, but you still feel lost, bored or uncomfortable with yourself. You might not know what you enjoy any more. Or you’re doing the things you need to do, but there isn’t much you actually look forward to.

This programme is for the rebuilding: your identity, self-trust, routines, relationships and direction. If your main need right now is support with cutting down or stopping, Addiction2Change is the more relevant starting point.

What are the seven pillars?
Self-awareness
Get to know your patterns, feelings, needs and values. Notice what affects your decisions and what matters to you now.
Self-forgiveness
Work through guilt and the way you speak to yourself about the past. Take responsibility for what you can do now without turning every mistake into a judgement about who you are.
Self-love
Put care and self-respect into practice through ordinary decisions: looking after yourself, recognising your needs and setting boundaries.
Self-belief
Rebuild trust in your own word through manageable commitments and following through. Notice the evidence of what you’re capable of.
Connection
Look at your relationships, loneliness and influences. Practise asking for support and making room for connections that support your progress.
Reinvention
Explore interests, routines and goals that fit the person you want to become. Work out how to fill the time substances used to take up with things you actually want to do.
Protecting your progress
Recognise difficult situations, keep useful craving tools and support in place, and make a plan you can return to when things feel harder.
What will taking part look like?

I’ll personally teach the lessons through video and audio. At each checkpoint, you’ll learn an idea, reflect on your own situation, complete a practical exercise, reflect again, apply it in everyday life and pin your progress.

For example, noticing that evenings feel lonely is a starting point. Arranging a call, trying a different evening routine and noticing whether it helped gives us something to build on.

Your workbook supports the teaching with prompts, plans and places to keep your answers. Some reflections can be a few honest words or a private voice note. You’ll have work to complete between sessions, and we’ll look at what you notice when you actually try it.

What support is included?

Throughout the 12 weeks, you’ll have a weekly one-to-one with me, a weekly group session, a private programme group chat and access to me by text within agreed contact hours. Text support isn’t instant or available 24/7.

Your one-to-one is a place to talk about your own situation. Group sessions give you the chance to learn alongside others, and the chat lets you ask questions and share what’s happening between sessions.

I want your full effort and honest answers. If an exercise brings something up, you get stuck or you have a setback, tell me so we can look at the support you need.

What am I working towards?

The aim is to understand yourself better, rebuild self-trust and create an everyday life you care about and want to protect. You’ll work on practical routines, boundaries, connections and plans that make sense for you.

This is guided peer support, not therapy, medical treatment or an emergency service. You can take part alongside professional treatment and other recovery support.

THE WHY BEHIND A2AFrom me, to you.

I know what it’s like
to look fine.
And be anything but.

I’m Abby, and I’m in recovery from codeine and coke addiction. I know what it’s like to keep telling yourself things will be different, then find yourself doing the same thing again.

Addiction2Advocate grew out of that experience. My programmes bring together things that helped me recover, research, and what I’ve learned from speaking with thousands of people affected by addiction.

I want to help you understand yourself, ask for the support you need and build an everyday life you want to protect.
